Aveeno Positively Radiant Targeted Tone Corrector from Influenster

I received Aveeno Positively Radiant Targeted Tone Corrector free from Influenster in a VoxBox for my review.   So thank you for allowing me to try this product.

First of all this is the first product that I have tried from Aveeno.  I don't know why I haven't since there's a lot of hype about Aveeno products in magazines and on TV commercials with the gorgeous Jennifer Aniston who has beautiful skin and hair.  She's one of my favorite actresses.  So I was curious to see about this product.

Reading through the information on the box and on the tube here's some things it has and it claims:

* contains Vitamin A

* helps fade the look of dark spots and uneven skin tone

* instantly reveals softer, smoother, more radiant skin

* non-irritating

* claims that it has clinically proven to fade the look of dark spots and uneven tone just after 2 weeks

* gentle formula that combines ACTIVE NATURALS Total Soy Complex - one of natures most effective dark spot and uneven tone fighters - with Vitamin A.

I'm in my 50's and don't have age spots on my skin.  I don't deal with a lot of uneven skin tone that much.  Like some people have dark circles under their eyes or redness around their nose or cheeks, so I wasn't sure if this particular product would work for me.  I do tend to get freckles on my face in the summer time but the past few summers have been limiting my time in the sun.  From what I could tell it did help settle down some of the freckles.  I did start to experience some tingling and irritation from it because my skin on my face is sensitive.  Also I'm not a big fan of soy.  There's too much talk about soy and have found out that most soy anymore is genetically modified (GMO) so I question the effectiveness soy really has.

If I go to the drugstore and have a desire to try more Aveeno products I think I'll try something that will better suit me like a moisturizer and a facial cleanser/scrub.  And as for Jennifer Aniston, I still love her, and I'll try some other products from Aveeno!

Vaseline Spray 'n Go

I have been using Vaseline Spray 'n Go Moisturize for a while now and have really been loving it.  I love a moisturizer that you can spray!  It's so convenient and easy to use! It comes in three fragrances, Total Moisture, Aloe Fresh and Cocoa Radiant.  I will surely try all of them.  

What I really like is that it sprays onto your skin and it rubs in so nicely!  It's not greasy and absorbs so quickly.  You can put on your clothes right after you rub it in and doesn't leave your clothes sticking to you.  It has a nice light fragrance.  It leaves your skin feeling soft and hydrated.  I really like using this moisturizer too at bedtime.  It absorbs into my skin and doesn't leave any stains on my sheets.  Check them out and get you some!!

Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Oil Controlling Towelettes

I really like using Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Oil Controlling Towelettes. I will look forward to using these in the summer when my face tends to get oily at times. I like that they are 100% natural and it gently removes oils and impurities. I like the way my skin feels after using them. Witch Hazel is a plant that has healing properties and it is claimed that Native Americans used it in the 16th century as a topical healing solution. So it seems to have some credibility for a few hundred years! I noticed since it is from Witch Hazel that the fragrance of these towelettes are are a little "organic"!

Vaseline Spray and Go Moisturizer

I really love Vaseline's Spray and Go Moisturizer! I was really excited to get this in my Sugar 'n Spice VoxBox! They make reference to use it before getting dressed in the mornings. Myself I prefer to use it at bedtime. The reason why is because its non greasy and won't get on my sheets. The other reason I use it at night is that it has a nice fragrance, but I feel the fragrance would interfere with my perfume during the day. None the less it feels really nice on my skin. I love that it sprays on and it gradually soaks in leaving my skin feeling soft. I have the Total Moisture that is infused with oat extract. It also comes in Aloe Fresh, infused with pure aloe, and Cocoa Radiant, infused with pure cocoa butter. I will definitely be checking out one of these!

belVita Breakfast Biscuits

I have had the belVita Breakfast Biscuits before and really liked them. They are great for a quick breakfast snack on the go for a hurried morning. I got the Cinnamon Brown Sugar this time. The package had 4 pretty good sized biscuits. When I had mine this time I had it with a cup of tea while checking out my Influenster on my iPad. I liked that they are natural. I cracked up at what was printed on the package. It states it has "natural flavor with other natural flavor"! Which to me sounds redundant! The biscuits seem to have done the trick! It's nutritious sustained energy with 19g whole grain per 50g serving.

Nectresse

Nectresse is something that I'm not real thrilled about in my Sugar 'n Spice VoxBox. I'm not a big fan of Nectresse or any other kind of sweetener. It's made by Spenda. It's stated as being natural and made from monk fruit. To me any kind of sweetener besides sugar leaves a nasty aftertaste in my mouth and I can barely swallow or drink it if put in tea or anything like that. I'm sorry Influenster but I'm not in love with all the products I received, and only because of this particular item. I'm going pass this on to someone who said they would like to try this.

Colgate Optic White Regimen

I was really excited to get Colgate's Optic White Regimen! I have never tried any kind of teeth whitening regimen product before so I was really looking forward to seeing if it does what it states it will do.......brighten teeth in a week!

The first product included in this regimen is their toothbrush. I really love this toothbrush. It's really different from other toothbrushes. Mine is soft bristles and I use this type of toothbrush. I tend to put too much pressure on my teeth with a toothbrush. The bristles on this toothbrush are amazing! The toothbrush is designed to hold toothpaste better and effectively remove surface stains.  It has polishing bristles that help whiten teeth by polishing away stains and clean hard to reach places.  It also has a tongue and cheek cleaner that helps remove odor causing bacteria.  When I first used this tooth brush this feature really irritated my mouth.  It made the insides of my cheeks sore.  I always use the bristles of the toothbrush to clean my tongue.  I really am liking this toothbrush!  It really makes a difference in cleaning and whitening my teeth.  

The toothpaste is really great.  I noticed after using it for a week, along with the mouth wash, that it really did whiten my teeth.  When I stated the regimen I was going to take a before picture of my teeth but I totally spaced it off and didn't get it.  I was really disappointed that I didn't get it to compare a before and after results.  The toothpaste has an exceptionally really cool fresh mint flavor to it compared to normal toothpastes!  It's really refreshing.  You can feel it working on your teeth.  I normally don't use a toothpaste with fluoride in it.  It states it's safe on enamel. I really did like the toothpaste and the effect that it had whitening my teeth in a week!

The mouthwash that was also included in the regimen worked really great.  It was really intense though.  I have never used a mouthwash that was so overwhelming.  It claims that it reaches places that is hard for a toothbrush to get to.  You use it after you brush you teeth and you are suppose to rinse your mouth with it for 60 seconds.  The mouthwash was so strong that I couldn't keep it in my mouth for that long.  When I first used the mouthwash it literally burned my mouth because I had bit the inside of my cheek and it was so sore to rinse.  I built up to the amount of time to rinse, but it was still really hard to do that.  This is a really powerful mouthwash, even so that you have to be extremely careful not to swallow any of it.  Finally I was able to withstand that rinsing.  It bubbles up quite a bit, especially when you spit it out into the sink of running water it really foams up!  But it did the trick along with the toothpaste and did whiten my teeth!

Here is a picture of my teeth after using this regimen.  My teeth will never be the pristine dazzling snow white teeth like I'd love for them to be, but they are definitely whiter than when I started.  I am very happy with the results of this teeth whitening regimen from Colgate! 

Colgate Optic White

I received Colgate Optic White toothpaste, mouth wash and toothbrush complimentary from Influenster from their Sugar 'n Spice Voxbox just recently and started using it immediately! I wanted to see if it actually does do what it claims - that it whitens teeth in 5 days.

The first night that I used this regimen my mouth was very sensitive to the toothpaste and even more so to the mouth wash. I used the toothpaste with the toothbrush. I really like the toothbrush. The bristles are very soft but brushes my teeth without being hard on my gums. Many other "soft" toothbrushes seems to make my gums bleed, but this one seemed very gentle. What I didn't like was on the backside of bristles in the brush it is textured which rubs the insides of my cheeks. This really irritated the skin in the inside of my mouth.

The Optic White toothpaste was very refreshing! Using their brush with this toothpaste really did the trick. It made my teeth feel very clean and my mouth refreshing! It has a very minty flavor and leaves your mouth feeling extremely fresh and cool, well cold!

The next step is to take their Optic Fresh mouthwash and rinse your mouth for 60 seconds. The very first time using it my mouth was so extremely sensitive that there was no way I could withstand even 10 seconds of the mouthwash in my mouth. For one thing I just recently bit the inside of my mouth and it was so very sensitive that I had to immediately spit the mouthwash out. The other thing was the backside of the toothbrush also irritated the inside cheek of my mouth. The mouthwash foams also when it comes in contact with water. I was pretty fascinated when I rinsed out the cap out under the faucet. After using the mouthwash for several days I was able to tolerate it better and the amount of time rinsing my mouth increased. The coldness of my mouth after rinsing was very intense. So much so that sipping water to finish rinsing felt like taking an ice cube and just shoving the whole thing in your mouth and closing your mouth!

After using Colgate Optic White regimen for a week now my teeth are whiter than when I started. I can see a difference. The thing is, my teeth will never be the beautiful Snow White teeth like the celebrities have, but at least they are whiter than they were before using this for a week.

GlossyBox January 2013

Got my February Glossy Box.  I was waiting around for my box to come.  I got notification that it was shipped, and it kind of slipped my mind.  So when I did think of it again I went online to check the status and it said it was delivered several days prior. So I got on the phone and contacted our post office.  They came and checked out locked box and sure enough they didn't put the key in our box to access the package box that my Glossybox was in.  Anyways, here's what came.

Like usual it came with their Glossybox Mag.  Always filled with beauty and fashion tidbits.  Also there's a great article on Bunny Meyer of grav3yardgirl on YouTube.  I just adore her.  She's really different, and that's what makes her so unique!  She's got the bluest eyes I've ever seen.  Check her out on YouTube if you get a chance.  And while you're at it too check out my channel littlebitofbeauty050 where I do unboxing of monthly subscriptions and also product reviews, oh yeah and my little Chihuahuas also have a part in my channel too with their own unboxing of their monthly pet subscriptions!
